WHO ARE WE?

...and why should you trust us?

We are Derek and Laura Schell!

Derek is a certified Level-1 Nutrition Specialist through the Nutrition Coaching Institute. He is also a certified personal trainer through NASM. After going through a transformation journey of his own (both physically and in life in general)in late 2019, he decided to make helping others in a similar position do the same. Derek has been coaching and training clients for 2 years now.

Laura is also a Level-1 Nutrition Specialist and has a strong passion for helping women get over the social stigmas around diet and strength training. Her coaching style focuses heavily on fueling your body for performance and recovery and training to get strong!

Derek and Laura both have a gift for connecting with their clients on an individual level. Their philosophy is that there is no one- size- fits- all approach to health and fitness and the ultimate goal is to find a plan that fits into your lifestyle so you can continue to implement for the rest of your life!

I myself struggled for many years to find a balance between my life and career and also taking care of my body and mind. Like many of you, I jumped through the hoops of contradictory information and found that most of it didn't work for me long term. This is why I am so passionate about helping others sort through the "BS" in the health and fitness space and understand it doesn't have to be complicated and you don't have to sacrifice everything else in your life to be fit and healthy. -Derek

Our goal is to help people structure their nutrition in a way that is sustainable for life. We don't believe in crash diets or cutting out entire food groups in order to get fast results. The reason most of these diets ultimately fail is because they are too extreme and lead to an all or nothing mindset.

Laura and I will judge our success or failure with each client, not by if they reached their goals while working with us, but by where they are 10 years from now. If they are able to take the skills and habits they've built with us and continue to build and level up each year, that is our ultimate goal!

SOF Method/Minimalist Gym

Minimalist gym was born out of pursuit of making the most out of what you have, being more deliberate and efficient with your time and leaving no room for excuses when it comes to improving health and fitness and getting the most out of life!

Laura and I created the Seasons of Fitness Method to help individuals like us understand how to train to live, not the other way around. With a better understanding of how to build sustainable habits and routines around your lifestyle, we can remove the stress and uncertainty around fitness and nutrition and live our best life!
